Lagos State has unveiled one of the most ambitious agricultural investment plans in West Africa — a ₦500 billion initiative designed to transform the region's food systems from farm to fork. At the heart of this transformation is Origin Tech Group, providing the infrastructure and logistics expertise to make the vision a reality.
The plan encompasses multiple interconnected projects, including the development of agro-logistics hubs, cold chain networks, processing facilities, and market infrastructure. Together, these components form an integrated system designed to dramatically reduce post-harvest losses, improve food quality, and stabilize prices for consumers.
Origin Tech Group's role extends beyond construction. The company is providing end-to-end solutions that include project design, technology integration, operations planning, and capacity building.
Key components of the plan include the establishment of collection centers at farm gates, intermediate processing hubs, and a central wholesale market complex.
The economic implications are significant. By modernizing food supply chains, the plan aims to create thousands of direct and indirect jobs, support smallholder farmers with better market access, and position Lagos as a regional food trade hub.
